Collecting rainwater is a simple and effective way to conserve resources while supporting healthier landscapes. A rain barrel system captures water from your roof through gutters and downspouts, stores it safely, and makes it available for reuse in your garden and outdoor spaces. By harvesting rainwater, you can reduce stormwater runoff, help protect local streams and waterways, and decrease your reliance on treated drinking water.
This workshop will walk you through how a rain barrel works from collection to reuse, along with best practices for safe installation and maintenance. You’ll learn how to position your barrel on stable ground, manage overflow, and keep your system clean and mosquito-free. With proper setup and care, a rain barrel provides a reliable, eco-friendly water source you can use throughout the growing season.
